The ZB2L3 18650 Li-ion Lithium Battery Capacity Tester Module Board is a compact and practical battery discharge testing module designed to measure the actual usable capacity of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, particularly commonly used 18650 cells. Instead of simply measuring battery voltage, the module discharges the connected battery through an external load while continuously monitoring voltage and current, allowing it to calculate and display the actual discharged capacity in Ah or mAh. This makes it useful for checking used batteries, grading cells, comparing battery performance, and selecting suitable cells for battery-pack construction.
The ZB2L3 operates by applying a controlled discharge load to the battery and measuring the current delivered over time. During the test, the module can display important parameters such as battery voltage, discharge current, and accumulated capacity. The discharge termination voltage can be set according to the battery being tested, allowing the tester to automatically stop the discharge when the selected cutoff voltage is reached. This helps prevent unnecessary deep discharge during capacity testing.
The module supports a discharge voltage range of approximately 1V to 15V and can handle discharge current up to approximately 3A, depending on the external load configuration and operating conditions. The tester itself is powered separately through a 4.5V to 6V Micro-USB supply, while the battery under test is connected to the dedicated input terminals and the discharge load is connected to the output terminals. External power resistors are used as the discharge load and convert the battery's stored energy into heat during the capacity test.
