1K ohm 16mm Rotatory Variable Potentiometer

SKU: GU0AAUKX1F
Potentiometers are very useful in changing the electrical parameters of a system. It is a single turn 1K Potentiometer with a rotating knob. These potentiometers are also commonly called as a rotary potentiometer or just POT in short. These three-terminal devices can be used to vary the resistance between 500 to to 1k ohms by simply rotating the knob. A potentiometer knob can also be used along with...

FAQ

1. What is a 1K rotary potentiometer used for?

A 1K rotary potentiometer is used for adjusting low-range resistance, commonly in circuits for fine control of voltage, current, or signal levels.

2. What does “1K ohm” indicate?

It indicates that the potentiometer has a maximum resistance of 1,000 ohms (1 kilo-ohm).

3. What does the 16mm size represent?

The 16mm refers to the diameter of the potentiometer body, making it suitable for standard panel mounting.

4. How does a rotary potentiometer function?

It works by rotating a shaft that moves a wiper across a resistive track, changing the resistance or output voltage.

5. What is included in this pack?

The pack contains five 1K rotary potentiometers, ideal for multiple projects, replacements, or bulk use.

A potentiometer knob can also be used along with this POT for aesthetic purposes.

This is a carbon track, single turn, adjustable resistances, of value 1KOhm Knob potentiometer. It is meant for mounting on panel and is supplied complete with a knob. The knob is affixed on the plastic spindle of the potentiometer and turns the spindle which changes the resistance. The variation of resistance is linearly proportion to the degree of rotation. Potentiometer, in electronic parlance, is a manually variable resistance. Because its most common consumer application is for controlling volume/tone of sound in broadcast receivers, it is loosely referred to as "volume" or ''tone''. It is not a meter with scale and needle. Potentiometers look different depending on size, power handled, application, value and type of material used. There is, however, a common feature-there is wiper which sweeps over a length of resistive material. The two ends of the resistive material as also the wiper are available to the user as electrical terminations. The user gets a variable resistance between the wiper and the two ends.
