
The 4S 6A LFP Battery Protection BMS Module is a compact battery management and protection board designed specifically for 4-series Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4/LFP) battery packs. It is designed to work with four 3.2V nominal LFP cells connected in series, providing a nominal battery-pack voltage of approximately 12.8V and a fully charged voltage of approximately 14.6V. The module helps protect the connected cells against overcharging, over-discharging, overcurrent, and short-circuit conditions during normal battery operation.
The BMS continuously monitors the voltage of the cells in the 4S battery pack and provides protection when the battery reaches an unsafe voltage or current condition. It is designed for LFP chemistry and should not be confused with a conventional 4S lithium-ion BMS, as LiFePO4 cells have different charging and voltage characteristics. Using the correct BMS chemistry is important for safe and reliable battery-pack operation.
With a rated current of approximately 6A, this module is suitable for low-to-medium current 4S LFP battery applications. It can be used with compatible 3.2V LFP cells such as cylindrical LiFePO4 cells and other suitable LFP battery formats. The BMS uses dedicated battery connections for the individual series cells, allowing the protection circuit to monitor the complete pack and the voltage of each cell section. Correct wiring is essential for proper operation. The cells used in the battery pack should be compatible, properly matched, and connected according to the BMS terminal markings. A suitable LiFePO4 charger designed for a 4S 12.8V battery pack should be used for charging.
