FAQ

1. Board Compatibility with Official Arduino Uno?

In terms of functionality, this board is identical to the official Arduino Uno. It uses the same ATmega328P microcontroller and follows the same pinout. It runs the exact same code and supports the same shields. The primary difference is the USB-to-Serial chip (usually CH340) and the lower price.

2. Computer Not Detecting the Board?

Most compatible boards use the CH340G USB driver instead of the official Arduino driver.

To fix this, download and install the CH340/CH341 driver. After installation, a new COM port will appear in the Arduino IDE under Tools > Port.

3. Power Limits of the Board?

USB Port: Provides 5V, suitable for programming and low-power sensors. DC Barrel Jack: Accepts 7V to 12V.

Avoid using 12V when powering multiple LEDs or sensors from the 5V pin, as the voltage regulator may overheat. 9V is recommended as the optimal external supply.

4. Difference Between DIP and SMD Versions?

DIP (Dual In-line Package): The main chip is socketed and can be replaced if damaged.

SMD (Surface Mount Device): The chip is soldered directly to the board. It has a lower profile and is usually cheaper, but cannot be replaced if damaged.

5. Arduino IDE Settings?

Board: Select “Arduino Uno”
Port: Choose the COM port that disappears when the board is unplugged
Programmer: Select “AVRISP mkII” (default)
