The KY-022 Infrared IR Receiver Module is a compact infrared receiver designed to detect and decode 38kHz modulated infrared signals transmitted by standard remote controls. Built around a 1838-series IR receiver IC (such as VS1838B, TL1838, or TSOP1838 equivalent), the module converts infrared signals into clean digital pulses that can be processed by a microcontroller.
The module features an integrated IR receiver, signal conditioning circuitry, and a status LED that flashes whenever an infrared signal is received. It is widely used in remote-controlled electronics, home automation systems, robotics, consumer electronics, wireless control applications, and educational projects.
The KY-022 operates from 2.7V to 5.5V, making it fully compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP8266, and other microcontroller platforms. It pairs perfectly with the KY-005 IR Transmitter Module for complete infrared communication projects.
