The KY-032 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is a compact proximity sensor designed to detect nearby objects using reflected infrared light. The module combines an infrared LED transmitter and a 38kHz infrared receiver to detect obstacles without physical contact. When an object enters the sensing range, the reflected infrared signal is detected, causing the module to change its digital output state.
The KY-032 features adjustable detection distance and sensitivity using onboard potentiometers, allowing it to be optimized for different applications and environments. An additional Enable (EN) pin allows the sensor to be enabled or disabled through a microcontroller, making it suitable for power-saving and advanced control applications.
The module is widely used in obstacle avoidance robots, autonomous vehicles, line-following robots, smart automation systems, industrial equipment, and educational electronics projects. It interfaces easily with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi Pico, and other microcontroller platforms.
