The Water Level Depth Sensor Module is a compact resistive sensor designed for detecting water presence, liquid level, and approximate immersion depth in tanks, containers, reservoirs, and electronic monitoring systems. The sensor uses a series of exposed conductive traces arranged on the PCB surface. As the water level rises across the sensing area, the electrical conductivity between the traces changes, producing a variable analog output signal.
The module provides an analog output voltage that varies with the amount of the sensing area in contact with conductive liquid. This output can be read using the ADC input of a microcontroller and calibrated to represent dry, low, medium, or high water levels. Common modules operate from 3.3V to 5V DC and use a simple 3-pin interface consisting of VCC, GND, and Signal output.
With its compact design and easy analog interfacing, the sensor is suitable for water tank monitoring, rain detection, leak alarms, irrigation systems, aquarium monitoring, automatic pump control prototypes, and educational electronics projects. It can be used with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, Raspberry Pi with a suitable ADC, PIC, AVR, and other microcontroller platforms.
