The Weight Sensor – 10KG Load Cell is a strain-gauge-based force and weight measurement sensor designed to measure loads up to 10 kilograms. It converts mechanical deformation caused by an applied weight or force into a small differential electrical signal that can be amplified, digitized, and processed by a microcontroller or electronic weighing system.

The sensor typically contains precision strain gauges arranged in a Wheatstone bridge configuration and bonded to an aluminium alloy beam structure. When a load is applied in the correct direction, the load cell body deforms by a very small amount. This deformation changes the resistance of the strain gauges, producing a differential voltage proportional to the applied load.

Because the output signal from the load cell is very small, it is commonly connected to an HX711 24-bit ADC and load cell amplifier module. The HX711 amplifies and converts the load cell's differential signal into digital data that can be read by Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, RP2040, and other development platforms.

The 10KG Load Cell is suitable for digital weighing scales, kitchen scales, parcel weighing systems, automatic filling machines, inventory monitoring systems, robotics, force measurement experiments, and IoT-based weight monitoring applications.

FAQ

1. What is the 10KG Load Cell Weight Sensor used for?

The sensor is used to measure weight or applied force up to 10kg. It is commonly used in digital scales, kitchen scales, parcel weighing systems, automatic filling machines, robotics, and IoT-based weight monitoring systems.

2. Can the 10KG Load Cell be connected directly to an Arduino?

The load cell produces a very small differential analog signal, so it is normally connected through a load cell amplifier and ADC module such as the HX711 before interfacing with an Arduino.

3. How does the 10KG Load Cell measure weight?

The load cell uses strain gauges attached to its metal structure. When weight is applied, the metal body deforms slightly, changing the resistance of the strain gauges and producing a differential electrical signal proportional to the applied load.

4. Is the 10KG Load Cell compatible with ESP32 and STM32?

Yes. When connected through a suitable amplifier and ADC such as the HX711, the load cell can be used with ESP32, STM32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, RP2040, PIC, AVR, and other development platforms.

5. Does the 10KG Load Cell require calibration?

Yes. Calibration is required to convert raw sensor readings into accurate weight measurements. A known reference weight is placed on the weighing platform and used to determine the calibration factor for the measurement system.
